Halloween 2026

The Ark is not a fortress. It is a garden, and a garden belongs to its town. On October 31, 2026, we were out with our neighbors for trunk or treat and the harvest festival: candy at the red Tesla, pirates under a black flag, witches on the steps, and Darth Vader holding a small princess by the hand. This is the other half of the work, showing up.

The Town

The Ark's work in Borrego Springs is restoration, of land and of the ties between the people who live on it. See the morning's work in the desert: Desert Restoration, The Funders Portfolio.
